The Kelowna Rockets completed a four-game sweep of the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday, giving them their first berth in the Memorial Cup since 2009. They'll be looking for their first Cup win since 2004.
Tyrell Goulbourne's status for the Memorial Cup tournament remains unknown, as he still remains out with a leg laceration.
In the QMJHL tournament, Samuel Morin and the Rimouski Océanic forced a fifth game of their President Cup final, as they beat the Québec Remparts 4-2 on Wednesday. Morin was held scoreless with one shot on goal and one hit.
The series continues tonight in Rimouski and Sunday in Quebec City. Should it go to seven games, the Océanic will host on Monday.
As a result of the Rockets' sweep, they are guaranteed to face the Remparts and Océanic for the Memorial Cup in Quebec City. The winner of the OHL's tournament is still pending, as the Oshawa Generals lead the Erie Otters by a 3-1 margin.
