This week's Future Flyers Report features a call-up for an up-and-coming prospect, as well as a three-point weekend for a touted draft pick and a split weekend for the Reading Royals. Take a comprehensive look at how the Flyers of Tomorrow fared after the jump.
Juniors:
Travis Sanheim recorded a goal and two assists in three weekend games, as his Calgary Hitmen lost 3-2 to Red Deer on Friday, beat Lethbridge 4-2 on Saturday and beat Lethbridge again 4-1 on Sunday. Radel Fazleev recorded a pair of assists as well, and with 46 assists, Sanheim leads the Hitmen.
Nicolas Aubé-Kubel scored a goal Friday in his Val-d'or Foreurs' 6-5 loss to Shawinigan. He was held off the board the following night, a 4-1 loss to Quebec.
Newly-acquired Flyer Danick Martel was inactive in two games this weekend, as his Blainville-Boisbriand Armada lost 2-0 to Chicoutimi on Friday and beat Drummondville 6-1 on Sunday.
American League:
The Phantoms continued their five-game road trip this weekend, beating Providence 2-1 in a shootout on Friday and Bridgeport 4-2 on Saturday.
Adam Comrie recorded his fourth of the season on a powerplay with just two seconds on the clock in the win over the Bruins, while Scott Laughton scored the only shootout goal. Rob Zepp made 33 saves on 34 shots.
Comrie scored again in the win over the Sound Tigers, while Nick Cousins, Jason Akeson and Oliver Lauridsen scored as well. Anthony Stolarz faced 40 shots, turning away 38 pucks. Additionally, the Flyers recalled Cousins following the game, to replace the injured R.J. Umberger.
The Phantoms (29-24-6-1) contnue to hold third place in the East Division, with 65 points. They sit eight points behind Springfield for the Eastern Conference's eighth playoff seed, and will be off until Friday.
ECHL:
The Reading Royals lost two of three games this weekend, losing 4-3 in overtime to Elmira on Friday, losing 5-2 to Kalamazoo on Saturday and beating Kalamazoo 6-1 on Sunday.
Ryan Cruthers, Brandon Alderson and Sean Wiles each scored against the Jackals, while Cruthers also recorded an assist. Connor Knapp received no support, as he saved 42 of 46 pucks.
Wiles scored again on Saturday, along with Olivier Lavelle. Martin Ouellette started, finishing the game with 26 saves on 30 shots.
Knapp returned between the pipes on Sunday, making 32 of 33 saves. Jordan Heywood, Cam Reid, Labelle, Pat Mullane, Brett Flemming and Kevin Walrod each scored on Sunday, while Wiles and Cruthers recorded a pair of assists each. Heywood recorded an assist as well, giving him a two-point night.
The Royals (39-16-3-2) sit three points behind Florida for first in the East Division, with 83 points. They also sit in third place in the Eastern Conference, just a point behind Fort Wayne.
