Between a spirited win over a big Eastern Conference club and a trade that sent not one, but two Paul Holmgren Specials to Los Angeles, this week has shaped up to be a significant (and fun) one for Flyers hockey.

But, of course, the  Orange and Black aren't out of the woods yet. They take a quick trip to the Twin Cities for a matchup with the Minnesota Wild – a defensive-minded club with a vaunted 14-5-1 record at home.

On the surface, the Wild don't seem like the most intimidating of clubs. They sit fourth in the Central Division with a 21-11-7 record, and hold the top wild card spot by four points. However, they still make their bones in the NHL's toughest division, and their 2.33 goals allowed per game is among the lowest in the league.

Captain Mikko Koivu will also play for the Wild, after leaving in the first period of Tuesday's game against Columbus. He was hospitalized after falling into the boards head- and back-first after an awkward collision with David Savard.

The Flyers and Wild take the ice at Xcel Energy Center at 8 p.m.

Sean Couturier's play and production has ramped up since being paired with Jakub Voracek, and though the two were separated for Tuesday's game against Montreal, Couturier still recorded his fourth multi-point game of the season. Couturier's seventh goal of the season stood as the game-winner, as the Flyers were able to hold off a late Montreal rally.

Zach Parise recorded a hat trick on Tuesday against the Blue Jackets for his 12th, 13th and 14th goals of the season, and now holds sole possession of the Wild's lead in goals. Parise has long been a Flyer killer, with 18 goals and 37 points in 43 games against the Orange and Black.

Steve Mason is set to make his first start in eight days. He has faced the Wild just once in his Flyers career, making 26 saves on 27 shots in a 4-1 win on Dec. 23, 2013.

Devan Dubnyk, whose career renaissance in Minnesota was one of the NHL's more feel-good stories of last year, returns to the net for the Wild. In four career games against the Flyers, he is 2-2-0 with a 2.27 GAA and .929 save percentage. He has not faced the Flyers since Dec. 29, 2014, when he was a member of the Arizona Coyotes.
