The annual Black Friday matinee was anything but a show. The Flyers played a very uninspired game, Dan Boyle, Martin St. Louis and Rick Nash all netted goals. Cam Talbot turned aside 26 shots and the New York Rangers shutout the Flyers once again 3-0 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Dan Boyle got the Rangers on the board at 6:10 of the first period with his second goal of the season. Boyle lfired a shot from the point home on the power play to give New York the 1-0 lead. Derek Stepan and Martin St. Louis had the assists.

The Flyers would not generate much in the way of chances in the period and were out shot 11-8. Their passes were not crisp, they lost a lot of battles along the boards and looked very slow.

The second period saw only one goal. Following an unsuccessful power play for the Flyers, Martin St. Louis converted a rebound of a Derek Stepan shot at 4:14 for a 2-1 lead. The goal was St. Louis' 1000th NHL point.

The Flyers would once again be outshot 11-7 in the period and were down 21-15 for the game at that point. Of the fifteen shots on goal there really were not many testers. Talbot just continued to turn the Flyers away.

The Flyers would begin the third on the power play but were unsuccessful. The Flyers had their chance to get back in the game. HAving just killed off a slashing penalty to Jakub Voracek, Chris Kreider took a four minute double minor for high sticking.

Rather than get closer, the game got further out of reach. Rick Nash got his team leading 16th goal of the season. He converted Stepan pass in front for the shorthanded talley and a 3-0 Ranger lead at 5:30 of the third.

The rest of the game saw sloppy passes, lost puck battles and an overall lack of effort. Steve Mason played pretty Well making 21 saves in the loss. Cam Talbot stopped all 26 Flyer shots for his second shutout of Philadelphia this season.

The Flyers next game is tomorrow at 1:00 at Madison Square Garden.
