If losing out on the final point wasn't enough, the Flyers will now have to battle the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday without their captain.
Claude Giroux is out for Saturday's game with an upper-body injury and listed as day-to-day, GM Ron Hextall announced.
Giroux has played in all 57 games for the Flyers this season, scoring 16 goals and adding 33 assists. He is currently one point shy of 500 for his career.
Giroux is missing just his third game in a stretch that spans the last four seasons. The injury is not serious according to Hextall.
The Flyers will likely tap Nick Cousins to center the top line with Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.
The source of Giroux's injury was not revealed, but he did take an elbow to the head from P.K. Subban late in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to Montreal. Video of the hit is below.
The Flyers and Maple Leafs face off at 7 p.m. from Air Canada Centre.
