The offensive line of the Philadelphia Eagles played their best game of the season in a Week 5 victory of the New Orleans Saints by the score of 39-17.
The offense exploded for a season-high 516 yards on Sunday, and there seems to be some odd reasons as to why offensive line performed better in the first home win of the year.
Reporters discovered on Wednesday that the change in play of the offensive line may not have to do with scheme, talent or play-calling.
A doll version of Eagles center Jason Kelce hangs above Lane Johnson's locker at the NovaCare Complex, and Johnson thinks that it might of had something to do with their second victory of the year.
"I honestly don't know," Johnson said. "I think Jason Peters or somebody put it up last week. We ended up winning, so I'm just going to keep it there."
If you ask the starting center's mom, Kelce played better against the Saints because of his new hairstyle.
Whether it be because of Kelce's haircut or the superstitious doll that hangs above Johnson's locker, the Eagles can get their first divisional win of the year if the offense can keep it up this week on Monday Night Football.
If Philadelphia (2-3) gets a victory over the New York Giants (3-2), they will sit at the top of the NFC East division.
