The Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder completed the first trade of the season earlier this week, with Jerami Grant going to the Thunder in exchange for Ersan Ilyasova and a future first-round pick. On Wednesday night, both Grant and Ilyasova made debuts on their new teams.
The Sixers got into some early foul trouble, so Ilyasova was forced to enter the game earlier than expected with 8:03 to go in the game. It didn't take long for the 29-year-old veteran to make an impact, hitting his first three-pointer minutes later to get on the board. For a guy that arrived in Charlotte after midnight on Wednesday, he looked very fluid in the Sixers lackluster offense. Ilyasova finished with 14 points on 5-for-12 shooting and 2-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Meanwhie, Grant was part of an low scoring 85-53 win for the Thunder that saw Russell Westbrook score 35 points on 14-for-30 shooting. Although the Thunder star turned the ball over 10 times, Oklahoma City still found a way to win. Grant entered the game off the bench and played 18 minutes and did what he has done well with the Sixers on the defensive end, blocking two shots. In addition to the blocks, Grant had six points and two rebounds. Two of his six points came via an alley-oop from Russell Westbrook in a close game during the second quarter.
The Sixers are in action next on Saturday as they welcome the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers to the Wells Fargo Center. Oklahoma City hits the road to Golden State for the second half of a back-to-back on Thursday as Kevin Durant faces off against his former team since signing with the Warriors in the offseason.
