Nick Grossmann left late in the first period of the Flyers 3-2 overtime win over the Capitals on Thursday night after taking a clean hit from Tom Wilson.

The Flyers announced during the game that Grossmann would not return with an upper-body injury.

That description did not change on Friday, but the Flyers did announce that Grossmann would miss the next three weeks recovering from the injury.

Andrew MacDonald, a healthy scratch on Thursday, returned to the Flyers regular group of defensemen at Friday's practice, playing in Grossmann's spot with Mark Streit.

The Flyers return to game action on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center against the Boston Bruins.
