Cole Hamels has the ball today as the Phillies seek a much needed win before heading out west.

The Phillies and the Braves conclude their latest series with a really nice pitching match up. Cole Hamels appears to be the prize of the coming trade deadline and he's coming off a strong start against the Brewers last week where he pitched seven innings of two run ball before the bullpen denied him and the team a win. Well, they haven't won since but Hamels is in a good spot to right the ship. Though standing in his way is Shelby Miller.
The last time the Phillies faced Miller, he threw a complete game shut out against them. Ever since, Miller has been nothing short of great for the Braves. He's coming off one of his shorter outings last week against the Nationals where he let up three earned runs over five innings but struck out ten. This appears to be a great contest for fans of great pitching.
Worthy of note is Ben Revere's absence in the line up. He was nearly traded to the Angels the other day before Anaheim backed out. One has to think something is close because he's played too well lately to be out this much. Odubel Herrera is once again in centerfield, coming of a two hit game last night where he homered.
