Anderson, 27, has one career start against the Phillies which took place on July 7 at Dodger Stadium. Throwing 87 pitches in five innings of work, the southpaw allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and and two walks. He received a losing decision, as right hander Chad Billingsley picked up his first victory in red pinstripes.
Billingsley was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 20, retroactive to July 19, with right flexor tendon discomfort. He likely will miss the remainder of the season.
Over five starts in the month of July, Anderson was 1-2 with a 3.14 ERA. He allowed 30 hits, 13 runs (10 earned), seven walks and four earned runs in 28 and two-thirds innings.
Opposing Anderson on the mound for the Phillies will be 14-year-veteran Aaron Harang.
Harang, 37, was activated from the 15-day disabled list on July 30 against the Atlanta Braves after missing four weeks with plantar fasciitis. He yielded nine hits and only one run over five innings in his return, and went on to win for the first time since May 14. Since that appearance, Harang was 0-8 with a 6.15 ERA in nine starts.
Over his last five starts, Harang is 1-4 with a 6.75 ERA. This season at Citizens Bank Park, he is 3-6 with a 3.71 ERA spanning ten starts and 63.0 innings.
