Following last night's 11-0 defeat Phillippe Aumont, who was responsible for 6 of those runs, was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
David Murphy reported moments ago that pitcher Hector Neris has been recalled to fill the vacant roster spot. Between Reading and Lehigh Valley this season, Neris has logged 63.2 innings, 3.82 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 45 strike outs, and 24 walks. Neris is a hot arm in Lehigh Valley right now and has had eight consecutive scoreless appearances. Such recent success won him the spot over Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez who notched his first Triple-A save last night.
Neris will wear number 50.
