Ilya Bryzgalov Signs With KHL, Heads To Russia During NHL Lockout
Ilya Bryzgalob will be fighting bears and stopping pucks (presumably) in Russia this winter.
In a report confirmed by CSN's Tim Panaccio, the 32-year-old goaltender has signed a contract to play with the KHL's CSKA club.
According to many sources, Bryzgalov was getting ready to reside to Russia during the lockout anyway. It seems like he'll keep up his skills at the same time.
Bryz is not the first Flyer to join the KHL this season. Flyers' forwards Jakub Voracek and Ruslan Fedotenko are playing in the KHL as well.
While these guys will be playing in live games, their teammates will continue to their private (and out-of-pocket rented) practices at the Skate Zone in Voorhees, New Jersey.
