Instant Analysis

An uneventful period in terms of shots and scoring chances, but a period that was really dominated by the Hurricanes. There isn't much good to say for the Flyers.

Jeff Skinner's goal was one Michal Neuvirth would probably like to have back. The Flyers were pinned in their own zone for far too long. They have been sloppy with the puck. They are having another rough night in the face-off circle.

The Hurricanes may have gone on a scoring spree of late, but the Flyers should be a lot better than this considering their last game was Friday night. That hasn't been the case in the first 20 minutes and the game could get out of hand quickly if this carries over to the second.

1st Period Scoring Summary

  • CAR Jeff Skinner (12) (Phillip Di Giuseppe, Jaccob Slavin) – 1:56

1st Period Penalty Summary

  • PHI Scott Laughton – 2:00 holding – 2:14
