The Louisville Bats are picking a helluva time to visit the Iron Pigs at Coca-Cola Park. The Iron Pigs completed a four game sweep of the Indianapolis Indians, winning 3-0, and completing a 36 inning scoreless series. It's a team record for scoreless innings, and puts them at 25-16, one game back of Pawtucket (zero in the loss column). The depleted Pigs roster isn't costing them wins at all. Ryne Sandberg just keeps them winning.
Original, and now former, Iron Pig Rich Thompson, the subject of a lot of discussion lately, got his first big league hit for the Tampa Bay Rays. Thompson is easy to root for, and I am, at least until the Rays come to Philly.
