Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor missed the final chunk of games last season due to a small meniscus tear in his right leg. Although his rehab has been going well, Bryan Colangelo announced that the former Duke product will be limited to non-contact drills with the U.S. Olympic Select Team.

“Jahlil has been in the gym working hard and has made great strides in his recovery and return to action, but he's simply not in the kind of basketball condition required to compete at this level of competition," Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo said in a statement. "Our sports science and medical team feels that holding him out of scrimmage situations is in everyone's best interest at this point of the summer." [Philly.com Sports]

Okafor had been taking classes and doing rehab at Duke prior to rejoining the Sixers in Las Vegas to watch the team participate in Summer League action.

Jerami Grant was also named to the U.S. Olympic Select team back in early June.
