The Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers last week, and that was largely due to the play of their defense. Now one of the team's defensive players has been honored with the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award:

The Eagles seventh round pick in 2016, Mills recorded his third interception of the season against the 49ers, and returned it for a touchdown before the end of the second half:

Mills also recorded three tackles – one for loss, and one pass deflection. Mills ranks fourth on the team with 42 tackles and leads the team with three interceptions this season after failing to record an interception in his rookie season.
Mills is the first Eagles player to win the award since Lito Sheppard in 2007, and comes one week after Carson Wentz won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
