The Miami Marlins disgrace to baseball continues. Two reports have surfaced that the Marlins are unloading even more of their talent. First, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the Marlins are letting teams know that "virtually everyone" is available.
Then, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports just reported that the Marlins are close to sending the Marlins' best and prciest pitcher Josh Johnson could be headed to the Toronto Blue Jays. Shortly thereafter another bombshell: Jose Reyes is possibly headed to the Blue Jays too. Ken Rosenthal, also of Fox Sports, calls Reyes "uncomfirmed" but adds that recent free agent acquisition Mark Buehrle is in the deal too.
"This is not a joke", Morosi tweeted. Well, I think it is: Jeffrey Loria is a complete joke. I've written this many times before.
Kevin Cooney of the Bucks County Courier Times suggests Loria has committed fraud. The Marlins and that city just bought that ugly new stadium. Watch him turn around and sell the team for a huge profit, financing the ballpark and taking the add-ons, raising the price of the franchise.
Go back to selling art, loser.
UPDATE: Buster Olney of ESPN says the deal is done:
The Blue Jays-Marlins trade is done… This is going to be one of the all-timers, with Reyes, Johnson, Bonifacio, Buck, Buehrle…holy crow.
