Despite no indication (aside from poor pitching) previously that something was wrong with Jeremy Horst, the Phillies placed Horst on the 15-day disabled list today with a "left elbow strain".
The disabled list move comes at a convenient time for the Phillies, who needed to clear space today. John Lannan takes the roster spot vacated by Horst. Lannan faces the Nationals tonight, his first start back from the disabled list and his first start against his former team.
