Congratulations to Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins. Rollins sent on an Instagram picture (above) earlier today to announce that he flew home to meet his newborn daughter. "Another princess," Rollins commented. Jimmy and Johari Rollins have one other daughter, Camryn Drew, born in May, 2012.
Being that Rollins left to be with his wife Johari on Wednesday, could this mean that he was already back to rejoining the team? I suppose it is possible. What appears likely is that the Phillies will fill in for Rollins by bringing catcher Cameron Rupp up to Chicago for the Phillies second series. Rupp is on the 40-man roster already and they will not have to make a move. While Jayson Nix will start at shortstop while Rollins is gone, Cesar Hernandez can fill in in a pinch.
