So long, big Joe.
The Dodgers have claimed starting pitcher Joe Blanton off of waivers, and he will be headed there for a player to be named later or cash considerations. This season with the Phillies, Blanton went 8-9 with a 4.59 ERA. Altogether with this team, he went 34-25 with a 4.47 ERA.
In a corresponding move, Kyle Kendrick has been named the fifth starter, and relief pitcher B.J. Rosenberg has been called up from AAA-Lehigh Valley. Kyle will be starting tonight's ballgame against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Another note: With Joe and Shane Victorino gone, the remaining 2008 World Series Champs on the roster are Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard, Carlos Ruiz, Kyle Kendrick, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins.
