Joe Walker Signs with Cardinals
By Paul Bowman, Eagledelphia Managing Editor
After officially adding Jordan Matthews to provide the team to provide a bit more depth to the wide receiving corps, the Eagles also lost some key depth.
Nate Gerry and DJ Alexander both missed practice today, leaving LaRoy Reynolds as the only backup linebacker on the 53-man roster. While the Eagles had Joe Walker available on the practice squad, he has signed with the Arizona Cardinals.

Joe Walker appeared in 12 games last season registering 10 tackles and one pass deflection. He also made another 10 tackles in the preseason this year.
JWalker had made the 53-man roster out of training camp, but was cut to make room for the previously mentioned D.J. Alexander, a Pro Bowl special teamer who the Eagles claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

To fill his spot on the practice squad, linebacker Asantay Brown has been resigned. He was one of the 10 players originally signed to the practice squad, but was released to create a spot for Walker prior to week one.
Brown was a really under the radar player this preseason. He did not make any big plays during the preseason games and was not discussed a whole lot, but the Eagles need linebacker depth and think that they can unlock the potential that Brown showed when he earned All-MAC honors three times and lead the Western Michigan Broncos in tackles in 2015 and 2017.
