Joel Embiid was the subject of an ESPN interview earlier today. while apparently working out at the Sixers' training complex in Camden, New Jersey, Embiid answered questions about what he thinks of general manager Bryan Colangelo trading to get the first overall pick in this Thursday's NBA Draft and presumptive first overall pick Markelle Fultz.
"It was excellent," Embiid said. "I thought the trade was great." The trade marks the next phase of the process that Sixers' fans have trusted for years now. Embiid likes this draft class, saying that there are "a couple guys that have the talent to be great players."
The potential of the team also stood out to Embiid. "Having two number one picks that are gonna play together next year for the first time is gonna be exciting," said Embiid.
Already looking ahead to next season, Embiid said "my expectations for next year are to make the playoffs."
Embiid was also asked about Markelle Fultz. Embiid said "We need shooters…I watched a little bit of him when he was at Washington making a lot of tough shots, and I think that's what he can add to the team.
Watch the draft on Thursday night on ESPN to see who will be joining Embiid on the Sixers when they make their selection.
