The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their fourth straight defeat yesterday to the Washington Redskins, but they also suffered a few losses in the injury department, notably long snapper Jon Dorenbos, who injured his wrist and had season-ending surgery on it on Sunday night.
Coach Pederson: Jon Dorenbos had surgery on his wrist and he’ll be done for the season. Wendell Smallwood has an MCL sprain.

Dorenbos, 36, had tied Harold Carmichael for most consecutive games played as an Eagle with 162 before getting hurt on Sunday. Brent Celek was the teams’ first option to replace Dorenbos. He botched a snap on a field goal and snapped a punt successfully before leaving the game with a stinger. Trey Burton came in for the next field goal try and while his snap was high, it was converted.
According to CSNPhilly.com, the Eagles plan to audition long snappers in preparation for next Sunday’s game at Baltimore, including John DePalma, who worked out with the Eagles in training camp. Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the top long snappers available are Christian Yount, Clint Gresham and Danny Aiken.
Dorenbos has played 14 seasons and is the longest tenured Eagle with Brent Celek next at 10 seasons.
