The Phillies trade deadline is now 18 days away. Jonathan Papelbon remains with the Phillies, though he rarely pitches. The Phillies closer has appeared in only three games so far in July, and has no saves since June 13. Would that make someone who thrives on being a closer happy?
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports:
Jonathan Papelbon said if he's still in philly "I won't be happy! But hat's not going to affect how I prepare"

Papelbon is (as many Phillies fans are) tired that Papelbon is not yet traded.
Papelbon at All Star press conference says it's time for Phillies "to (blank) or get off the pot." Re: trade

Phillies fans may agree with that. Papelbon tried to even speed up the process by talking about the Chicago Cubs being an attractive option:
Papelbon said he would love to reunite with Lester on #Cubs. "But the decision is not up to me. Believe me, I wish it was." #ASG2015

Last week Jayson Stark reported that the Phillies got close to a Papelbon trade, but Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. was instructed from above to pull out of a deal. Hopefully the Phillies did not miss their chance. The Phillies fans and Papelbon are tired of waiting.
