Pretty sure I just saw former #Eagles WR Jordan Matthews coming out of the NovaCare Complex with a smoothie in hand. Take from that what you will…@6abc pic.twitter.com/tQs9lh6EC0— Jamie Apody (@JamieApody) September 18, 2018
Matthews would certainly improve the Eagles wide receiving corps but comes with risk. After posting 2673 yards on 225 passes with the Eagles over three years, Matthews appeared in only 10 games last season and caught only 25 passes for 282 yards while battling injuries. He spent some of training camp with the Patriots this preseason, but was released following a hamstring injury. Matthews has the added benefits of being a veteran and already knowing Doug Pederson and a bit about his offense. If he is signed, the Eagles have a tough decision to make on who to cut loose from the 53-man roster.
