Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Phillies (46-74) fell for the fourth game in a row, while the Blue Jays won for the 13th time in their last 15 games.
The Phillies offense went to work against Blue Jays starter Aaron Dickey, but a battle of bullpens left the Phillies with a loss.

Aaron Nola was not exceptionally effective tonight, but he battled through five innings, allowing three earned runs. Nola left with the lead, but the bullpen was not able to protect it.
The Phillies offense was scattered. The Phillies got one run in the second inning, one in the third, two in the fourth, and one in the fifth, to make the score 5-3 Phillies before the Phillies bullpen took over.
Most of the damage was done against Jeanmar Gomez in the sixth inning. Gomez had been out with an illness and was pitching for the first time since August 8 in San Diego. After inheriting a runner from Elvis Araujo, Gomez allowed the inherited runner to score along with four of his own as the Blue Jays put up five runs in the sixth inning.
The Blue Jays offense was highlighted by MVP candidate Josh Donaldson. The Jays' first year third baseman went 3 for 4, with two home runs and four RBI. Also with runs batted in were Edwin Encarnacion, Chris Colabello, and Ezequiel Carrera drove in two runs for the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays got a save from their 20 year-old closer, Roberto Osuna. The Same is Osuna's 14th since being named closer. Osuna piggybacked a Blue Jays bullpen that put up five total scoreless innings.
