Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has gone on record saying that leaving coaches (such as Kellen Moore) should not be allowed to just poach an entire coaching staff from their previous stop and he’s indicated that he expects the coaches in Philadelphia to remain for the most part as they are Eagles coaches.

That’s being tested already, however, as the Saints will reportedly take TJ Paganetti from Philadelphia.

This news comes as Eagles QB coach Doug Nussmeier appears to be the leading candidate for the Saints open OC position. Particularly after the Eagles already promoted from within to fill their vacant position.

Paganetti is a long time Eagles coach, joining back in 2013 with Chip Kelly and having been with the franchise for all but a year when Kelly was first fired. He’s worked his way up since and received praise from players.

He was the Eagles assistant run game coordinator – a position he can’t really get a promotion from because the Eagles would have to be crazy to take that title from Jeff Stoutland. The Eagles could choose to block the hire but wouldn’t be likely to do so if the hiring comes with that promotion in a new city.

The Birds will now have to wait to see if the three other position coaches that have been interviewed by New Orleans will be leaving or not.
