On Wednesday, the NFL announced its weekly awards for the past set of games and Kenjon Barner was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Barner is the second Eagles player to earn the special teamsaward this season, joining teammate Jake Elliott, who won it after nailing a 61-yard field goal against the Giants a few weeks ago.

The Eagles signed Barner to a one-year deal on September 26 after learning that Darren Sproles had broken his forearm and tore his ACL on the same play against the Giants in week three. The 27-year-old tailback was very effective as the Eagles' punt returner during the teams' 34-7 win over Arizona, returning three punts for 110 yards. He also carried the ball five times for 23 yards.
Barner's biggest return of the day was a 76-yarder in the first quarter that set up a touchdown to put Philadelphia up 14-0 early. Carson Wentz found Zach Ertz in the endzone on third down to finish off the drive.
Barner joins Darren Sproles, DeSean Jackson, Brian Westbrook and Brian Mitchell as Eagles punt returners to win Special Teams Player of the Week.
