Kevin Patullo Named Eagles New Offensive Coordinator

The Eagles had a hole to fill after Kellen Moore bolted to New Orleans to become their next head coach.
For the Eagles, however, that’s no surprise. They largely expected that this would happen if the hiring last offseason was successful.
It certainly appears the plan was in place as Kevin Patullo was named the team’s new OC without too many interviews happening at all.

On the bright side, Patullo should have chemistry with the rest of the staff and the players and, ideally, was being groomed for this position throughout the year and especially in the playoffs when it became clear Moore would be leaving.
He originally joined the team as the passing game coordinator in 2021 and received a promotion in 2023 to make him associate head coach.
Of course, that’s good and bad – he was here when Shane Steichen was and we saw a great passing game. He was also here this year as the team leaned heavily into the run and, most glaringly, was still the passing game coordinator in 2023 when the Eagles absolutely fell apart and never got an offensive identity let alone a functional offense.
In theory, Patullo now has vacancies to fill at passing game coordinator and assistant run game coordinator.
The Eagles may have just won a Super Bowl, but many fans will be upset at the lack of another external voice joining the staff and fear the internal hire’s possible total implosion as it did during the 2023 season following the disastrous promotion of Brian Johnson.
