Kobe on Sixers’ future: “They’re gonna be a problem for a long time”
By Josh Liddick, Sports Talk Philly editor
Kobe Bryant has a had a really fun week on a whole lot of levels. Bryant, the Philly native, just watched his lifelong favorite NFL team, the Eagles capture their first Super Bowl Championship in franchise history after a 41-33 thrilling win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.
He even went a little crazy in an NSFW video shot by his wife, Vanessa.
But the Los Angeles Lakers legend had some time to speak with screenwriter Michael Weber at the Oscars Luncheon on Monday and talked a little bit of Eagles and touched on a little bit of the Sixers as well.
I met Kobe at the Oscars Luncheon today. I told him I'm an Eagles fan & he immediately bear-hugged me. Then we talked Sixers. "They're gonna be a problem for a long time. A 6'10 PG like that is a problem for the league. Their 7' big man… (shakes his head)… a big problem."

Of course, Kobe was referring to 6'10 point guard Ben Simmons and seven-footer Joel Embiid, who have absolutely proven how good they are both going to be in the very near future for this team.
If the Sixers continue to build towards a bright future, the sky's the limit for this team and even Kobe Bryant can see that. he knows a thing or two about building young teams to get into a position to win a championship.
