Yesterday, the Phillies battled and won in the eleventh inning thanks to a RBI double by Marlon Byrd that scored Chase Utley from second base. Tonight the Phillies will send Kyle Kendrick (0-3 3.58 ERA) to the hill. Kendrick will be looking to get some run support to get his first win of the season. He will be opposed by Dillon Gee (3-1 2.51), who is having a good year, after going 12-11 with a 3.62 ERA.
Game Notes:
- Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins have excellent numbers against Gee. Howard is 7-15 with six home runs and 14 RBIs, while Rollins is 9-19 with two doubles.
- With a win tonight, the Phillies will jump the Mets in the standings to fourth place and will be potentially two games back in the NL East.
- Mets’ first baseman Eric Campbell was just called up from AAA where he was hitting .355 with three homers, 15 doubles, and 24 RBIs.
