Kyle Kendrick has never been on the disabled list. Kendrick probably will not be placed on the disabled list with just a dozen games left on the 2013 schedule. But one thing is certain: Kendrick will not make his scheduled start tomorrow against the Miami Marlins. According to CSN Philly's Jim Salisbury, Kendrick has right shoulder soreness.
Salisbury's piece has Phillies Interim Manager Sandberg's update on Kendrick, who indicated that his arm felt about as good as his pitching performance has been in his recent starts.
“He’s felt something the last few weeks,” Sandberg said. “He just wanted to get some peace of mind about it. He was still able to pitch and could still pitch now. It was a precautionary move to get it checked out now.”
In September, Kendrick is 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA. That's a far cry from the 2.41 ERA Kendrick posted in April.
In Kendrick's place Zach Miner will make his first major league start since August 12, 2009.
