Kyle Kendrick, Phillies Close Out Series Against Colorado

Kyle_Kendrick_

The Phillies and Colorado Rockies will close out their four-game series tonight in South Philadelphia with the Phillies up two games to one.  A win tonight would give the Phillies just their second series win this month, which would also be just their second since the All-Star Break. The Rockies sit at 10 games under .500 (59-69) but have played about as the Phillies have as of late.

The Rockies will start the right-handed Chad Bettis, making just his fifth start in the major leagues.   Bettis is 1-1 so far in his young career in the majors.  Bettis' win came in his first start in which he allowed five earned runs in five innings.  His loss occurred his last time out when he lasted just two and two-thirds innings and allowed seven hits and four walks.

After a hot start Kyle Kendrick has leveled out to a 10-10 record and a 4.36 ERA.  After his hot April in which he pitched to a 2-1 record and a 2.41 ERA, Kendrick has struggled the later in the season.   After pitching to a 7.36 ERA and a 2-3 record in July, Kendrick is 1-2 with a 4.96 ERA in August thus far.
