Well that was fast and also quite predictable. Yet, another game is on tap.

John Lannan looks to build on his rather impressive start to the season against Mike Leake, who comes into tonight's contest with a 6.75 ERA and 1.83 WHIP in two starts. Just the right guy to throw 7 innings of shut out ball against the Phils tonight.

The home squad has been lifeless offensively lately and I saw no signs last night of things getting any better.  The at bats reflect virtually a whole team that's pressing. Five years ago, they would have demolished Homer Bailey. Last night, he looked like Tom Seaver. Strange game. Hats off to Kendrick though who threw a fine game last night himself. He deserved better.

Lannan enters the game with a 2.77 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, 7 Ks, BB. He's been effective so far and pretty much as advertised. He has a lot to prove this season as he was kind of screwed over last season. It was easy for us Phillies fans to kind of sneer at this move because they handled him well but he's a decent pitcher.

I don't know about this one though. It just feels like a loss is coming. Lifeless game last night comes to a miserable and fast end today. I can't imagine them coming out blazing tonight. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
