When the Phillies hired their former player, coach, and manager Larry Bowa, everyone knew that he had an explosive personality. After a relatively quiet March, April, and May, Bowa has become his old self. On 97.5 the Fanatic with Tony Bruno and Harry Mayes, Bowa gave a very blunt assessment of the Phillies team in only the way Larry Bowa can.
Here are some highlights:
- Players are not playing like big leaguers
- Domonic Brown should not be coming to the ballpark happy, given his poor play.
- Baseball instincts cannot be taught
- Roberto Hernandez should go deeper in games
The Phillies had a team meeting at 3:45. I'm sure that some of these issues will be addressed.
