Miami, FL – It was a pitcher duel in Miami tonight as Harang and Nicolino pitched deep and effectively but the bat woke up late for Philly.

It was Aaron Harang's best start in a long time. Not since May 14, had he seen the 7th inning and for seven frames, he held the Marlins to two runs and two hits. He ran into some nasty trouble in the third where he walked three and Derek Dietrich did the damage with a two run single. After that he would retire the next thirteen batters to wrap up one of his strongest starts of the season.

Justin Nicolino was every bit the pain on the other end. For seven innings, he kept the Phillies off the board allowing just three hits himself. However in the 8th, newly acquired Darnell Sweeney pinch hit and demolished the first pitch he saw for his first major league hit and home run. Cesar Hernandez would then single, knocking Nicolino out of the game. Andres Blanco would then tie it up with a double off Bryan Morris.

The Marlins would go to their closer, A.J. Ramos in the 9th and Aaron Altherr broke the tie with a solo blast. Immediately following his heroics, Darin Ruf launched one and the Phillies had back to back home runs for the first time in 2015 to take a 4-2 lead.

Ken Giles would then enter in the bottom of the inning and throw a perfect inning to notch his ninth save of the season and securing the win for Elvis Araujo who threw just one pitch to end the 8th inning. The last Phillies pitcher to win a ballgame with just one pitch was Geoff Geary in 2006.

The Phillies send Aaron Nola to the mound tomorrow, looking for the series win.
