Some more help could be on the way.  Today the Phillies announced that OF/1B Laynce Nix will begin a rehab assignment tonight at Class A Clearwater.

The Phillies really missed Nix's bat the last few months as the offense has struggled along.  In 22 games before he was injured, Nix was hitting .326 with a .396 on base percentage.  He hit two home runs and drove in 11 in limited action.

Presumably he would take Jason Pridie's spot in the outfield, unless another outfielder is moved between now and his return.

On the minor league side, pitcher Justin DeFratus, oufielder Domonic Brown, and outfielder Tyson Gillies all began climing their way back from injury with rehab appearances of their own.

DeFratus and Brown, both of whom could make an impact on the 2012 Phillies major league roster at some point are with the Gulf Coast League Phillies; Tyson Gillies, who is assigned to AA Reading, is with the Lakewood Blue Claws.
