Fresh off his first career triple-double Ben Simmons has been drawing a lot of attention around the NBA.
One of the people who spoke about Simmons was three-time NBA champion and four-time MVP LeBron James.
“It’s the first of many for him. He’s a triple threat, ability to score in transition, rebound and pass the ball. His passing is his best quality and high basketball IQ. So, it’s the first of many triple-doubles for the young guy,” said James.
James and Simmons do have a strong off-court relationship, where the two workout together frequently. James is a mentor of sorts to Simmons and has said previously how highly he thinks of Simmons as a player and a person, so these comments from James are not out of the ordinary.
Simmons is the first player to record a triple-double in one of his first four NBA games since Hambone Williams and Oscar Robertson, joining them in the history books.
