Romero
From Phillies Post Game Live on CSNPhilly

In a somewhat surprising move, J.C. Romero has been designated for assignment by the Philadelphia Phillies to make room for Vance Worley on the Phillies' active roster.

It's been a very tumultuous time for Romero who has seen the following:

June 2007: Released by the Boston Red Sox and signed by the Phillies to a minor-league contract

August 2007: Becomes a premiere left-handed set-up releiver for the Phillies

October 2008: Wins two games for the Phillies in the World Series, on the way to a Phillies World Series Victory

Offseason 2009: Suspended by Major League Basebal for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance

July 2009: Fan accuses Romero of assault in Tampa following an interleague game with the Tampa Bay Rays

2010 Season: Romero battles injury

October 2010: Phillies inform Romero that he will not be re-signed

Offseason 2011: Phillies re-sign Romero

Spring training 2011: Romero's $110,000 Porche stolen from Florida near Spring Training site

June 2011: Romero designated for assignment

The emergence of Antonio Bastardo as a top-left handed option made Romero expendible.  A sigh of relief for David Herndon.
