The last time the Flyers and Lightning met at Wells Fargo Center, Andrei Vasilevskiy was the star for the Lightning. With his team clinging to a 1-0 lead for much of the game, Vasilevskiy faced a shooting gallery and he stopped everything coming his way.

The Flyers eventually solved Vasilevskiy three times to claim a win.

On Saturday, with Vasilevskiy in goal again, there was no solving the Tampa Bay netminder. For the second straight game, Vasilevskiy was perfect, as the Lightning claimed a 3-0 shutout win over the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers had several chances to claim the first goal, getting the game's first two power plays. They failed to capitalize on either and when the Lightning got a power play chance of their own moments later, they didn't let it go to waste.

A rush up the ice by Tampa was led by Tyler Johnson, who dished to Valtteri Filppula on the zone entry. Filppula got the puck to Alex Killorn, who patiently waited, faked the shot and fed a wide open Johnson for the slam dunk to put Tampa Bay ahead at 14:25.

The Flyers got another power play chance to close the first and again did not convert, going 0-for-3 on their first-period chances. The Flyers also led in shots after one, 12-6.

The second period proved to be a tight-checking affair and even include some added physical play as Radko Gudas and J.T. Brown dropped the gloves after a hit on Ryan Callahan. The spirited bout energized both teams, and after the Flyers came close to finding the equalizer at one end, the Lightning took advantage at the other.

A 3-on-2 turned in a 3-on-3 as Tampa Bay carried the puck up ice. Vladislav Namestnikov set up Ondrej Palat, who cut to the middle of the ice and snuck a shot through a tight window in front of Steve Mason to score his third goal of the season and make it 2-0.

The Flyers failed to convert on a fourth power play late in the second and trailed by two heading to the third.

The Lightning made sure there would be no comeback early in the third. Palat led a pass ahead to Jonathan Drouin, who was behind the Flyers defense and cut in on goal with speed, beating Mason with a shot under the blocker to make it 3-0 at 4:26.

The Flyers finished the game 0-for-5 on the power play. Vasilevskiy picked up the shutout, his second straight, with 32 saves. Mason stopped 15 of 18 shots.

The Flyers are back in action next week for a Florida road trip. They face the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night at 7:30, then take on the Lightning again on Wednesday at 7:30.
