London Fletcher Ranks Eagles Atop ‘Terrible’ NFC East

FletcherWashington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher believes the Eagles are top team in a 'terrible' NFC East division ahead of the teams' meeting Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The NFC East is so mediocre that even the players are starting to openly take notice.

Even the Washington Redskins who enter Sunday's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field with a record of 3-6 are only two games behind the first place Dallas Cowboys and Eagles.

While speaking with Philadelphia reporters via conference call Wednesday, London Fletcher opened up about his views of the division.

"The great thing about this year is that the NFC East is so terrible," Fletcher said. "You look at it and we're in Week (11), and our leader is 5-5," Fletcher said. "So even at 3-6, we're conceivably still in this thing."

Heading into a matchup with a division rival, Fletcher's favorite in this race may surprise some observers.

"The Eagles are playing really good football right now," Fletcher said. "If you look at it, they are probably the top team in our division right now.

"You would probably have to go Eagles, Cowboys, Giants and then us," Fletcher said with a laugh.

The Eagles currently sit atop the NFC East, tied with the Eagles but hold the tie-breaker given their head-to-head 17-3 win over the Birds back on October 20th.

It's certainly intriguing to hear an NFL player admit that he feels he plays on the worst team in the division. However, it's certainly worth checking in with Fletcher after Sunday's game should he and his Redskins teammates extend the Eagles home losing streak to 11.

In the season opener the Eagles topped the Redskins 33-27.
