PHILADELPHIA — Despite Aaron Nola, at least in terms of runs allowed, out-dueling Jose Fernandez Monday night, Jeanmar Gomez and the Philadelphia Phillies bullpen were not able to hold off a Miami Marlins late-inning rally to preserve a win.
With over 10 days since his last start, the Phillies will give the ball to a hard-throwing righthander of their own in Vince Velasquez Tuesday looking to avoid losing the first two games of a four game set.

Game Notes:
- Don't look now, but with last night's win the Marlins moved past the New York Mets in both the division and the Wild Card. They are now in sole possession of the second National League Wild Card spot and within five and a half games of the division leading Washington Nationals.
- Vince Velasquez's April 14 complete-game shutout was the only time this season that he's gone more than six innings. Given his health concerns, it's fair to wonder if that won't remain the case for the entire season.
- The Marlins are 26-23 on the road in 2016, while the Phillies are just 22-26 at home.
