King Henrik was at it again. Once again, the Flyers were the victim.
The Flyers suffered their second straight defeat at the hands of the New York Rangers on Wednesday night, falling 3-1 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The high-energy pace favored both teams early, but the Rangers would ultimately get the better chances.
Midway through the first, Derek Dorsett scored off a Flyers turnover to give the Rangers the lead. That score would hold through the remainder of the opening period.
Henrik Lundqvist would survive a flurry of Flyers shots, 15 in all, in the opening 20 minutes. All were kept out of the net.
The Rangers added to the lead in the second with a goal by Ryan McDonagh at 5:34. It was McDonagh's fourth goal in the last five games and also his 14th of the season.
The Rangers would ice the game in the third as Dominic Moore scored his sixth goal of the season on a dribbler through the legs of Steve Mason at 7:39.
The Flyers managed to get a late goal by Jake Voracek. It was Voracek's 21st goal of the season and 100th goal of his career.
Mason made 26 saves in the losing effort. Lundqvist stopped 30 Flyers shots to seal his 30th win of the season.
Wednesday's loss was the Flyers first back-to-back regulation losses since late January.
It is a quick turnaround for the Flyers again. They return home on Friday night to face the Toronto Maple Leafs.
