For the second time today, a Phillies pitcher has been claimed off of waivers by another team. This time it is pitcher Tyler Cloyd who will be joining the Cleveland Indians organization, reports Cleveland Indians official blog twitter account @TribeInsider. The Phillies are busy clearing 40-man roster spots, it would appear. I would not be shocked if there are more.
Cloyd will best be remembered as a Phillie for five shutout innings and a double in the Phillies – Diamondbacks 18-inning marathon on August 24. All in all in two stints with the Phillies Cloyd was 2-7 with a 6.56 ERA.
