Philadelphia Eagles starting safety Malcolm Jenkins has missed a second straight day of practice at the NovaCare Complex as he recovers from a concussion.
According to Corey Seidman of CSN Philly, Jenkins is currently going through the NFL's concussion protocol. He suffered the concussion during the Eagles 33-27 overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
The good news is that Eagles head coach Chip Kelly anticipates Jenkins will return to practice on Thursday.
If Jenkins doesn't play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon, the starting safeties for the Eagles defense might be Chris Maragos and Walter Thurmond. They both took first-team reps at the safety spot during Wednesday's practice.
After missing almost all of practice last week, starting left tackle Jason Peters returned to action on Wednesday. According to Jeff Mclane, Peters' lower back isn't the problem anymore, but the Pro-Bowl left tackle is now dealing with a quad injury. Peters gave himself a 50-50 shot of playing against the Dolphins.
Lane Johnson will be ready to make his second career start at left tackle if Peters is unable to give it a go on Sunday.
Rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor practiced in full on Wednesday. An ankle injury suffered in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints has sidelined him for the last three games. He practiced all of last week, but was inactive for the Eagles-Cowboys game.
Other than Jenkins, the only player to miss practice for Philadelphia was defensive back Jerome Couplin.
