Brandon Manning is now officially a Flyer.
For three seasons, the defenseman got a taste of the NHL level on various call-ups. Manning has played 10 games with the Flyers this season, including the last six, and has done enough to earn a spot in the future.
The 24-year-old signed a one-year, NHL-only deal with the Flyers on Friday worth $625,000.
Manning has three assists in 10 games this season and five assists in 20 career games spanning three seasons.
The deal gives the Flyers seven defensemen with one-way NHL contracts, and that does not include restricted free agent Michael Del Zotto. The Flyers will likely make moves in the offseason as they mold next season's team.
