Former 76er great Allen Iverson will have his number 3 officially retired tonight before the Sixers take on the Wizards at home. Every one who is a sports fan in Philly knows that Allen Iverson was one of the most pivotal, charasmatic, explosive – and controversial players to ever don a Sixers uniform. After playing for the Sixers for 10 years, Iverson moved his career to Denver, Detroit, Memphis, and finally back to Philadelphia for one season.

As a tribute to one of Philly's most beloved sons, Phillies outfielder Marlon Byrd has decided to wear a personalized jersey that reads "Iverson" and his iconic number 3. Phillies beat writer Todd Zolecki tweeted the photo earlier this morning

It is against MLB rules to wear a jersey that does not display your name (unless authorized by the league), so it seems more unlikely that likely that we'll be seeing Allen Iverson hitting DH today.
