The Flyers update on goalie Steve Mason featured some good news. Mason will not be out long term after suffering an injury in practice on Friday.
The goalie was definitely out for the final game before a short break in the eight-game road trip where the team will return home for the holidays. That game is tonight and Ray Emery will be in net.
But Mason will make the trip with the team after the holidays. GM Ron Hextall said Mason will not play on Saturday in Nashville, but could skate that day. This means Rob Zepp will stick around for a little longer, but the best case scenario is a Monday return in Arizona for the Flyers top goalie.
Mason missed the first two games of the road trip with a lower-body injury suffered at the end of practice on Friday.
