On Monday evening the Eagles made a roster move by trading backup offensive tackle Matt Tobin and a 2018 7th round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange a for a fifth round pick in 2018.
Tobin was used as an extra blocker at times last season, but the team does not appear to plan on using Tobin in that role again last season after they have been using Dillon Gordon as a fullback in practice.
The Eagles are in search of draft picks after the Jordan Matthews trade. The Eagles sent a 2018 third round pick along with Matthews to Buffalo, and they are already without their second rounder in 2018 as a result of the trade that allowed the Eagles to move up and draft Carson Wentz.
The Eagles now hold their own first round, fourth round, fifth round, and sixth round picks, in addition to Minnesota's fourth round pick, a conditional fourth from New England, and Seattle's fifth round pick in the 2018 draft.
Also announced today was a fine for wide receiver Bryce Treggs after the league deemed a block that he set during the first preseason game in Green Bay to be illegal.
Treggs has been fined $25,000, but he does not plan on paying it alone:
I made league minimum last year and I just got fined 25K. I'm starting a gofundme to pay it.

Damarious Randall was the recipient of the block and received a concussion on the play. He responded to Treggs by suggesting that Treggs should not play dirty if he cannot afford the fine.
Treggs then had more to say on Twitter:
As an undrafted guy fighting for a roster spot, you're always trying to stand out on film. A lot of y'all don't understand that.

My assignment was a force block on that play and I was trying to put a physical play on film. Nothing dirty about trying to earn a job.

Treggs is indeed fighting for a roster spot, and in a couple of weeks we will find out if he stood out enough on film to make the final roster.
