Another beauty of an outing from Cole Hamels tonight helped snap a three-game losing streak for the Phillies.

The Phillies got ahead to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two-run dinger by John Mayberry, Jr. which scored Laynce Nix. To follow, Erik Kratz sent a monster home run into the second deck seats in left field. Those back-to-back homers gave the Phils a 3-0 lead.

Aramis Ramirez sent a solo homer to left in the bottom of the second to put the Brewers up on the board. This ended Cole Hamels' scoreless innings streak at 23.

In the following inning, Chase Utley scored on a Ryan Howard doubled to deep right, giving the Phillies a 4-1 lead.

Ryan Braun hit his daily home run in the eighth inning with two outs. It was a two-run blast to right field, making it a 4-3 game. That's when Jonathan Papelbon would come in for a four-out save.

Cole's line from tonight: 7.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 10 K, 107 pitches, 75 for strikes. He picked up his 14th win of the season.

Papelbon pitched a perfect ninth innings, securing the 4-3 lead for the Phillies.
